BEST IN THE DMV

I have been going to Captain Whites since 1980, and even to this day, they remain the best seafood spot in the DMV.
I like their new location even better. The quality of their seafood, prices, and service is the best in town.
Not only is the seafood AMAZING, so is the staff. Douglas is always courteous, and goes above and beyond to ensure that I am happy with my purchase, as I can be a little picky.
When I have a large order (1/2 bushel or more), he makes sure that my purchase is carried to my vehicle. Thank you Douglas!

SO THIS PLACE IS AWESOME.

I woke up craving steamed crabs and didn’t want to go all the way to Annapolis. So I googled local places, and found Captain Whites. I bought a dozen large jimmies steamed with heavy seasoning, and let me tell you, there was not a single dud in the batch. Every crab was heavy with meat, and with a little re-steaming at home to heat them up, the meat was tender, sweet, and delicious. I will definitely be returning this summer for more.

New storefront is finally open and we’re loving it! Same set up style, except inside now and back right dedicated space for steaming orders. Various registers to order from with seafood from MD crabs, Alaskan crab legs, shrimp, squid, oysters, clams, etc. Have paper, old bay and other seafood eating things to buy inside also. Definitely a must try!!

Captain Whites has been our top choice for the best crabs in the DMV area for years! We've been loyal fans since their early days at the Wharf, before it became a popular tourist attraction, so even after they moved to Oxon Hill, we still make the 45 minute drive to enjoy these mouth watering crabs. We've never been disappointed! Their consistent quality and flavor have earned our long term support. Congrats on the new building!
